A Momentum Analysis of Lifting Surfaces in Inviscid Supersonic Flow
نویسنده
چکیده
Momentum considerations are used to derive relationships between the lifting efficieny of a wing having an attached shock system and properties of the flow field around it. Optimum two-dimensional flow fields are derived using shock expansion theory. These may be used to design three-dimensional shapes having slightly greater lifting efficiencies than plane wedges. An analysis of the flow in any plane of symmetry is used to suggest desirable features of more general flow fields. Section.

Inviscid Compressible Flow in Meridional Plane of an Axial Flow Compressor
In this paper it is attempted to investigate the behavior of an inviscid flow in the meridional plane of an axial flow compressor. For this purpose the 3-D unsteady Euler equations in cylindrical coordinate are averaged in tangential direction. Therefore, the equations are reduced to a 2-D system. By averaging the tangential component of momentum equation, a blade force will result. Axial and r...

Effect of altitude is discussed in the unsteady separation of multi stage rockets. Axisymmetric, unsteady and turbulent Navier stokes equations are solved numerically. The governing equations are split into a hyperbolic inviscid part and a parabolic diffusion part. The hyperbolic part is solved by an explicit second-order time and space of Godunov-type scheme. Moving mesh and moving boundary al...
متن کاملInviscid flows over a cylinder
In this paper, we simulate steady inviscid flows over a cylinder using potential and stream functions, including entropy and vorticity corrections for incompressible, subsonic, transonic and supersonic flows. The present hierarchical formulation is equivalent to Euler equations satisfying conservation of mass, momentum and energy. Standard numerical schemes and iterative algorithms are used for...

Determination of the nature of the critical flutter boundary (benign/catastrophic) and its control constitute important issues that can be addressed within the nonlinear formulation of lifting surface theory. The main attention of this paper consists in the development of a computational approach enabling one to get a better understanding on time-delayed dynamics as applied to this important ae...
